Vito Pasquale Salluzzo is a beekeeper of Castelvetrano, after years of self study, bringing back naturally some swarms, he can build his first apiary.
Be a beekeeper also means to protect the vegetable and animal biodiversity, he therefore decides to breed the Sicilian mellifera bee, also known as the Sicilian black bee.
Very wild local kind, it can produce honey at high temperatures, but that lets also harvest the wintery honey.
During time, the passion also becomes the working activity and today he has many more hives, the best one is the hive which is in the archaeological area of Adranone Mountain, in the Archeological and Landscape Park of Agrigento’s Valle dei Templi, in Sambuca of Sicily at 850 m, where he produces wildflower and thyme honey with the ADRANON brand.
All the honeys are artisanally producted and in small quantities with the aim of ogger pure, biological and non-contaminates honeys, moreover they are not put under any termic treatment, they maintain the organoleptic and originaries nutritional properties.
