Bosco Falconeria company, located in 60 km from Palermo over the hills above the gulf of Castellammare, was born in. 1933, when it was a company of about 12 hectares for a mainly viticulture purpose, with a winery where in the period of the harvest, they were working 7 wine mills and they were working almost 30 people.
The family events, the crisis of agriculture and the earthquake of ’68s led to a short abandonment, until the early ’70s when the winery was restored as a summer retreat.
Since then summers and weekends begin to become more and more demanding. To the passion of Antonio Simeti, agronomist, is joined the curiosity of Mary Taylor Simeti, who between an article and a book through which she brings Sicily in the USA, already at the beginning of ’80s she began to import from overseas the first notices about organic agriculture.
So the house for the holidays begins again to be productive: from initial 12 hectares they reached almost 17, the coltural address has been diversified and in 1989 the company, which became Bosco Falconeria, is officially converted into organic agriculture. The family as well in the meantime has been growing, Natalia and her finnish husband Rami, have decided indeed to take over the manage of the company and to make their home there.
