Testa di Moro – Terra di Colori – Naomi – Black Woman / Coloured Turban

It is told that around 1100, in Palermo, lived an extraordinary beautiful woman who was used to spend her days dedicating herself to the care of her wonderful garden.
One day, the beauty of the girl conquered a young moro, who driven by passion declared himself and conquered the heart of the beauty between those flowers and leaves so much important for her.
The beloved man however soon should have left for his native land, where he already had a wife and sons.

Too much anger and delusion for the young, who, in the darkness of the night, made her bed the teather of the decapitation of the sleepy traitor.
From the poor cut head, the beauty made a vase to expose on her balcony in which, with the daily drop tears, she saw sprout a lush basil plant.

The envy of the neibouroughs and of the passings was at a point that many asked the local artisans vases modeled with heads, “Teste di Moro”.

The making is fully handmade, without the helping of any kind of machine unless a oven or a lathe, eventual small imperfections are the proof of the authenticity of the productive process. Using two, in some cases three, cooking phases we give atmospheric agents, heat and humidity proof product.
